All the signs today point to things being frantic and a mess in the work world. Travel may come up at the last minute, and trying to process everything that’s going through your mind may make it difficult to make clear, thoughtful choices and decisions. There might also be some sneaky people saying less than helpful things, so be careful what you take in today. It’s time to wake up and actively choose what’s coming through your boundaries. Pay attention to your thoughts because they are making the world as you’re thinking it. What are you afraid to face? What are you protecting yourself from? It’s time to face those things so that you can move on. Being stuck is another source of anxiety and worry, so that could be making things worse as well. Time to get unstuck.
Today’s draw is about source and beginnings in lots of ways. You are rooted in where you came from, and cutting yourself free from that is kind of a fallacy. I mean, here’s the thing: we here at Muse’s Darling Conglomerated Industries have been getting rid of an entire storage unit’s worth of stuff over the last eighteen months or so, so we understand about how stuff can weigh us down; and of course getting free from our past selves is a worthy goal if that’s what one wants to do. We all must shed our past skins in order to grow, after all. But there’s an entirely different kind of rootedness to source that has nothing to do with the stuff we’ve accumulated along the way. There’s a rootedness that represents who we truly are beneath the layers of life we’ve become buried under, and it’s that that is being activated and energized today. Co-create your life with the energies around you, and have faith in where you come from and what you’ve been through. There’s a reason for it all — and I don’t mean that in the trite “new age” way. I mean that the reason for our experiences is to work us in the crucible of life, to alter us, to burn us to ashes so that we can be born anew as something different and more glorious, but that still is made up of the ashes of what went before.
Today’s draw is a reminder to pursue your own goals, not those of someone else. Keep your thoughts and ideas to yourself, and walk your path. Don’t fret too much about the news–stay focused on what moves and passes through your world and move with those rhythms. Keep a weather eye open for the clear blast of inspiration, and try not to blink.
You are guided by the great strength of your faith, and held in a sheltered place by adherence to your ethics. Stay true to that today, my friends. Stay close to home (both literally and metaphorically) so that you can process everything you’ve been through and all the flow you’re in now. You are moving along passages and through mazes and mysteries, and there is a sort of deep questioning happening. That’s all ok. You don’t need to know all the answers before moving on. A dear friend told me last night that a friend once told her, “The ‘how’ is none of your business.” When you pray for something, how it manifests is none of your business. Let the Gods do Their thing: how they do it is beyond us all, so let go of it. Do your work, and be a light for others to follow.
Ok, here’s a thing: we who have Christian roots tend to want to give away what we receive because we think that’s the good, right, holy thing to do. We here at Muse’s Darling Industries were speaking with a friend about this just this past week, about being pathologically honest and not keeping things to ourselves, which we find to be part of the same pattern of giving it all away, like Jesus said to–it’s that whole rich man::heaven camel::needle thing, and it’s completely messed up. Yes, we should help others. Yes, it’s important to do charitable works and good in the world on a daily basis. But that doesn’t mean you should immediately give away things that come to you from Heaven (for lack of a better metaphor) before you know what they are or why they came to you. Let yourself sit with the mystery of giving and receiving today–actually, today just sit with the mystery of receiving; there will be other days to sit in the mystery of giving. Receive gifts, and be aware that gifts come with obligations (which is another thing we westerners are terrible at but which underlies the fabric of a decent society–being obliged to one another is not only ok, it’s foundational). Receive, practice gratitude, and explore the mystery of human obligation and Divine give-and-take.
