Today’s draw warns us that no matter what the world is doing outside (and it’s in the middle of some ridiculous gyrations at the moment, April Fool’s Day notwithstanding — oh, and we here at Muse’s Darling Industries don’t do April Fool’s Day, so everything in this divining here is straight up and not a joke), it’s critical to keep your feet on the ground and rely upon your own wisdom and strength. Follow your heart. It’s fine to get advice from others, but it’s also fine to ignore that advice once you receive it. It’s your life, your destiny, your future. Do your thing, and try to not get swept up in the madness swirling around you. Fenrir represents the untamed monster within us (among other things), and Widar is the force needed to conquer Him. As a matter of fact, in the Norse legends of Ragnarök, when Odin is killed by Fenrir, Widar is the one who avenges Odin and kills Fenrir by crushing the wolf’s skull under His giant boot. Widar is an exemplar of silent, efficient goodness, of mastery and skill that’s not wasted but only brought to bear when it’s needed. Let that be your guide today: don’t get dragged into the drama. Watch and wait, and move when your time comes.
There is no hiding from reality, no matter how hard you’ve been trying. What is, is, so let it be. Let go of childish things, and be much more measured and thoughtful in everything you do. Let go of what is dead, and let fresh energy come in and be born. You’re done with what’s past, so quit dragging it up. Let it go. Turn around and face the new reality. A new you is being born.
There’s an air of despair out there, friends, and the best way to fight it is with our own inner joy. That’s as simple as I can make today’s reading. Be strong in your personal joy, however that might manifest for you, and don’t let other people rain on your parade. Be mindful of where you’re going and where you are, and pay attention to where you put your feet. But as you keep moving on down your path, try to remember that there is joy all around you. Life is a burgeoning mess of a chaotic house party, and you can take part in it if you want to, either by yourself or with your crew.
We’re seeing Ganglati a lot these days: that Four of Wands energy of creating home and establishing solid habits and getting those foundations cleaned up and solidified. It’s also the “silly season” of holiday madness, home, and family, and loads of attendant stress and anxiety to go along with all that togetherness. Today’s draw is a reminder to set healthy boundaries and allow yourself time to play because that’s more important than you might think. We need our whimsy, our play-time, and our current culture not only doesn’t allow it but actively tries to stamp it out. Work against that, my dears. Get outside if you can and breathe some fresh air. Set up boundaries to protect your inner child (or however you choose to think of this side of yourself that engages in sacred play), and hold those boundaries. The Sun, Moon, and Stars are all in alignment in this draw (check out the center of the reading; all three are there in a vertical row), and there’s a Tree on each card. Balance, balance, balance. Get some self-care in there amidst all the requirements for others. Get some play in there amidst all the work. And remember to be as nice as you can be to everyone. You never know who you’re dealing with or what they’re going through. Wish everyone a happy holiday season.
Today’s draw brings great harmony and deep connection with Ancestors (which is actually the subject of today’s #30DaysofHecate by the way). The way the charms fell is stunning today. The arrow of bright and brilliant thought is enmeshed in the crown and pointing at the crown worn by Tara Sermo Sonam Tobche, the Great Golden Lady Who Increases the Power of Merit, She Who is Impeccable Virtue. And the Karma Coin is at the roots of our Ancestral Tree, our lineages. We are working out and off ancestral karma as well as our own, and everything is connected over generations. Even if you don’t like your people or don’t know them, you are affected by their lives and actions. How we live our lives matters; the choices we make every day matter. It’s important to keep the sacred fires of the self lit, and to move in the direction of making your dreams a reality. Continue to move inward along your journey of development, following the path in the dark with your lantern held high (this is another nod to Hekate, the lightbringer–She carries the lantern and brings light to the darkness).
Today’s wisdom-channeling will be brief, my dears, since your oracle has ALL THE THINGS to get to and she’s already had to chase two deer out of the backyard on only half a cup of coffee. #unfair 😉
Ok, so here’s the thing: Using your intuition to make your next set of choices is a good idea. You’re stronger and more powerful than you know. It will be madness for awhile. Hell, it may already be madness. The challenge is not only to find your way through the madness, it’s to make the madness your own. Sticking your fingers in your ears and yelling “LA LA LA LA LA I CAN’T HEAR YOU LA LA” until it’s over is not a good approach. Stop. Let the chaos come closer. Talk to it. Personify it, and let It manifest in Its sacred way. Breathe deeply, and let your command, your Queenship, embrace and become the madness for awhile. When you finally do walk out of the dust cloud at the end, you will have gained a powerful new ally.
Today’s draw is weird and complicated, but the gist of it is that things need to be out in the open in order to dry out and heal. Don’t hang onto what’s dead. Let it go. The process of decay is natural and normal, and the sun speeds that process up. So let it. Release choices you’ve not chosen, have faith in what you have chosen, and just be in that awkward and uncomfortable place while you wait for the next new thing to manifest. Breathe and yield to it. Don’t try to blast it to pieces or dig your way out of it. Wait. Your potential is beautiful and great, so don’t ruin it by rushing. Did I mention breathing? Because yeah. Breathe.
