Reach out and grab the opportunities that come for you today, whether they look like the brass ring or an important email or even a chance to boop Lakshmi on the nose (check out the picture; the hand of The Arm landed right on Lakshmi’s nose 🙂 ). Take whatever comes today with a generous heart and a good sense of humor, because it’s all silly and wacky and bizarre and none of us get out of here alive, so remember we’re all in it together. Pay attention to what you’re doing, and don’t be afraid to do the grunt work you need to do to keep things moving along. Leave behind what isn’t working for you, take action where you can (and be honest!), and be sure to let yourself laugh as much as you can. Breathe and be a part of the day.
It’s important to recognize when you’re in a rite of passage. This is kind of a hard thing sometimes because these days, in this culture, we don’t really do rites of passage. Even our weddings, births, and deaths (among other things) are subjected to massive amounts of social media, photographing, and commentary rather than just sitting with or doing the experience, whatever it is, so whatever wisdom we’re meant to glean from the passage flies right past us as we’re Instagramming it. (And when I say “deaths,” I mean the endings of relationships or jobs, or the deaths of those close to us; obviously there’s no getting around the experience of our own deaths.) So today is a reminder to put the phone down, turn off the device or TV or whatever, and just be in the space you’re in. Feel it. What’s going on? Don’t distract yourself; it’s not healthy. If you’re going through something, acknowledge that you’re leaving behind one thing and moving into something else. Time is passing. So let yourself go, and be aware of it. What messages are you getting? Because believe me, as a psychic and an empath, messages don’t get through when I’m plugged into Netflix or Facebook. You’ve got to turn that shit off in order to hear. Set up schedules and boundaries so that you can actually feel your life.
So, fire. Yeah. In California there are fires burning all over the place, and there’s a blog post by Mark Morford on SFGate.com about climate change and everything being on fire that came across my Facebook feed this morning that resonates with today’s reading on a macro level. But this is about the cleansing fires that happen on a micro level. What needs to go in your life? What needs to get burned away? It’s time. If we won’t or can’t let go of it it will get taken from us, and all wisdom says that having things taken is a much more traumatic process than willingly letting go–although sometimes letting go is impossible, or seemingly so. Either way, willingly or unwillingly, change is at hand, and it will eventually be apparent as change for the better. There is healing happening now, medicine that we must take, and there is no knowing how or why that medicine will work. This is a faith healing, people, and we have to go through it in order to be reborn.
Today’s draw is unlucky, my dears. Sometimes the gods blow through your life and just take your shit, and there’s nothing you can do about it but grieve what’s gone and try to move on. The grief will pass, though, and with it leaving will come room for new good fortune to enter. Don’t waste your resources, especially your precious spiritual resources, on people who don’t deserve them; do your best to just relax and go with the flow today no matter what happens.
