When you act today, and you must because you’re a grown-up (I know, I know, don’t even get me started, I don’t want to be one either right now), do so without letting your overwhelming emotions sweep you away. You’ve got to stay grounded. The temptation is to let yourself get away with <insert favorite addiction here> because goddammit you deserve it, and you do, but you also deserve whatever is better out there that is at the business end of getting shit done. So don’t wallow. Save your wallowing–don’t be mean to the part of yourself that needs to wallow; let yourself wallow on another day. It’s ok. It will be your special I Get To Wallow Now Shut Up Day. It’s just not today. Today needs to be your DO THE THINGS Day. You’ll be glad it was and that you did those things. I can’t say when or why, but you will be.
